This is a list of sites to promote your blog, especially for new bloggers
Are you a new blogger who is stuck at 100 page views?
You’ve probably tried so many things to increase your blog traffic but they don’t seem to be working out and your google analytics statistics didn’t budge.
Well, I’m new too and I’m in the same situation that you’re in, only I’ve been doing some crazy research to find out how to increase my own blog traffic.
Luckily for us, I’ve come across an overlooked list of sites to promote blogs, and I would like to share them with you.
1. Quora
This is a platform that you can use to read and answer millions of questions.
How is this a site to promote my blog and get traffic?
Well, you can search for questions that people are asking on Quora which relate to your niche and answer those question. Make sure that you answer the question thoroughly to establish yourself as an authority on the subject and link back to your blog or one of your articles that relate to the question that was asked.
This will help to generate traffic to your blog!
Millions of people use Quora monthly and while you won’t get all those users to see your answers (which you should be linking back to your blog), you can certainly find ways to get some of those users to view your blog!
Answer questions consistently to get more exposure for your blog and thus more traffic!
Check out Quora here.
2. Stumble Upon
This is a social bookmarking website. This means that you can easily discover web pages, videos, photos and more from across the web on Stumble Upon.
By using Stumble Upon you discover websites and blogs you may never have otherwise discovered and other people will begin to discover your blog which they would never have noticed otherwise!
So what about the traffic to your blog right?
Well, you use Stumble Upon by signing up for free and choosing your interests. After this, you will be able to submit links to Stumble Upon for others to stumble.
Quick tip, try not to stumble your own links, instead, submit other people’s links and start to stumble other sites. Sign up for Stumble Upon here.
In order to get people to stumble your article/post in the most effective way possible, head over to this blog and join this free Stumble Upon group to start getting traffic to your new blog!
Update: January 2017
I no longer use Stumble upon to get traffic to my blog. You can read why I do not like the value I get from this type of traffic here.
3. Pinterest – My Favorite Source of Traffic of all three sites
Yes, Pinterest! Most people think that Pinterest is just a social platform or a place that you go for recipes and DIY projects, and while it does have those things, Pinterest is so much more.
New bloggers should be on Pinterest promoting their blogs. If you’re not yet on there, head over to Pinterest right now and create an account.
Now it is a bit time consuming to keep repinning your content on Pinterest, especially if you are part of multiple group boards, so I suggest you use this cool tool called tailwind which will schedule your pins for you and help you save time.
Tailwind costs $15 but it is so worth the price! It will also give you some awesome insights about the best times you should be pinning based on your Pinterest account activity.
You can use this link to receive 100 free pin schedules with tailwind or click here to get 1 month of tailwind scheduling for free!
Also, read this article to see how many successful bloggers have shown that Pinterest is one of their main source of traffic to their blogs.
Click here to read this post that shows you how to use Pinterest to grow your blog traffic each month. I’ve been able to consistently increase my blog traffic using the strategies listed in this post and I know that you can too!
Now you have a few sites to promote your blog and I hope you make good use of those sites.
This list will be updated as I come across other ways to promote blogs.
I really hope that this post was helpful and that you use those sites to promote your blog, I certainly will.

I have never heard of quora. I will have to check it out.
Quora is a good way to get readers to visit your blog. Check it out and see for yourself.
It’s hard to submit to Quora if you’re writing more personal pieces I’ve found. But great list 🙂 Thanks for sharing
I’m happy to share what I know. I never thought of that. I will work on finding websites where bloggers who write about more personal pieces can promote Thanks!
Great post! I am just realizing how valuable Pinterest really can be!

Stumble Upon and Pinterest are great for promoting and driving traffic to your website! I’ve never tried Quora before. I’m sure it’s worth checking out.
They are really great, especially if you are a new blogger. Do try out Quora and feel free to let me know of your results. Thank you so much for stopping by Elizabeth!
I regularly use Pinterest and Stumbleupon. Tailwind has been a huge help to pin regularly to Pinterest without having to do it in real time.
This is one of the main reasons that I LOVE Tailwind so much. It saves so much time!
Pinterest is reallyworking out for me but I don’t really get hoe to work on stumbleupon.
Hi Momina Arif! To use Stumbleupon, you will need to create an account with StumbleUpon and start to stumble (view on StumbleUpon) articles/posts that are related to your niche. Then you will need to have links to your posts or blog added to the website (preferably by someone else). I’m not yet 100% sure, but many successful bloggers claim that your website traffic will be equivalent to the number of webpages/posts you stumble daily and many also recommend that you should spend at least 30 minutes stumbling and liking posts daily. I will gladly add one of your posts to StumbleUpon.
I have not try Quora yet. I did tried Pinterest, Stumbleupon and other social medias website. Thank you for sharing.
You’re most welcome Jessica. You should give Quora a try and if you do, feel free to come back and update me on your results! I would love to hear them.
