This is my personal review on Jaxxy, which I consider the top keyword research tool for finding the best keywords to rank for in search engines!

If you’re like most newer bloggers, you’re probably using lots of social media platforms to get traffic to your blog.

You also have been lightly dabbling with SEO for organic traffic and you think that Google Keyword Planner is the top keyword research tool to help you find the best keywords to rank for.

But what if I told you that you were wrong about that and showed you what the best keyword research tool really is?

I’m sure you would appreciate this greatly. After all, this tool will save you tons of time and disappointment.

In this post, I will explain:

  1. Why blogs that are less than six months old rarely get search engine traffic.
  2. Why Google Keyword Planner is not sufficient for in-depth keyword research.
  3. Why I think Jaxxy is awesome for keyword research.

Before I begin, I need to put this out there.

It is very rare for a brand new blog that is less than 6 months old, to rank in Google, Bing or Yahoo search engines. Period!

Why?

  • At this point, your blog has not been out there long enough
  • Your blog is probably still in ‘construction mode’.
  • You also may not have enough content and engagement on your blog or website as yet.

Like I said in this post, you have to prove to search engines that your blog content is valuable to internet users. Then and only then will your content make an appearance in the coveted search engines.

My blog is very new as well (1 week shy of 2 months at this point) and I sure am in this category too.

However, you still need to start implementing proper Search Engine Optimization as soon as possible, even though at this point you are not getting organic traffic from search engines as yet.

The main reason for not getting search engine traffic in the first 6 months

Many pro bloggers claim that new blogs get little to no traffic in the first six months by describing something called the ‘Sandbox effect’. Here is what SEOchat.com has to say about this:

What is the Google Sandbox?

The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is that a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases. Even with good content, abundant incoming links and strong Google PageRank, a site is still adversely affected by the Sandbox effect. The Sandbox acts as a de facto probation for sites, possibly to discourage spam sites from rising quickly, getting banned, and repeating the process.

How would you describe the Google Sandbox in one sentence?

The Google Sandbox is very similar to a new website being placed on probation, and kept lower than expected in searches, prior to being given full value for its incoming links and content.

In other words, you have a period where Google will not send you any search engine traffic. Many new bloggers will take this to mean that trying to rank in Google is a waste of time. After all, why would you wish to spend your already limited time on something that does not yield immediate results?

Many new bloggers won’t do this. They will quickly neglect SEO in favor of social media traffic.

Nothing wrong with this. I am also using social media to drive traffic now, BUT, I also focus on SEO!

Here is why you should too!!!

You will get out of this ‘sandbox effect’ as soon as Google is satisfied that your blog or website is not meant for spamming, (usually by month 6)

And guys, when this happens, you will get a ton of very valuable organic traffic. But only if you have used keywords and SEO properly.

This type of traffic is super duper valuable because those page views will be coming from people who WANT your content! They WANT what you’re selling! They WANT whatever it is that is on your blog or website.

How do you prepare adequately for this time:

1. Create good content

2. Implement proper search engine optimization

3. Have some sort of engagement on your blog.

I highly suggest you sign up for my free resource library to get full access to my 12-month series called ‘Everything I did to get traffic to my new blog’ (to be specific, I was able to get 3471 page views in September, my first month blogging. If you want to know how, definitely check out my free resource library here. Month 1 (September 2016) is now available to you!

top keyword research tool

Having dealt with this part, I want to explain why you need a proper keyword research tool in order to implement great SEO practices to help you build a successful blog.

Like I said, it is unlikely for a blog to start receiving organic i.e search engine traffic in its first 6 months

Why then do I need a keyword research tool?

The answer:

You need to prepare upfront for that glorius day when you start to recieve organic search, because, if you’re anything like me, you can’t wait for the day when you do not need to DEPEND on traffic from facebook groups/participation…Right?

If you are active in facebook groups then you know exactly what I’m referring to.

Don’t get me wrong, perticipating in facebook groups is great for now, but I do not believe this is a long term strategy for a successful blog.

Jaxxy Is The Top Keyword Research Tool For SEO!

So far you’ve been using Google Keyword Planner.

Isn’t this sufficient?

No guys, it’s not

the best keyword research tool for seo

To be honest, I use Google Keyword Planner sometimes, but this tool was not made with the content publisher/you/me in mind. Rather, it was created for advertisers, and so, I do not expect to get very comprehensive data from using Google Keyword Planner.

Sure, it helps to give me the broad idea for some keywords, sometimes, but there is little to no comprehensiveness.

Instead, I use Jaxxy for in-depth keyword research.

Trust me on this one, Jaxxy is very, very thorough, and this is why I consider it to be the best tool I’ve used for keyword research.

How Jaxxy Will Knock Your Socks Off!

Jaxxy is an awesome tool to use if you are an internet marketer, blogger, online store owner or if you do any type of online business that will thrive from search engine traffic. It is an especially great tool for newbies simply because it is so easy to use and understand (plus the co-founder has some awesome video tutorials to help you get started) You can find these in training.

If your ultimate goal is to get page one ranking in Google, then you need Jaxxy in your life guys…Seriously!

Why Jaxxy Is Hands Down The Top Keyword Research Tool

1. Jaxxy allows you to see the exact number of people searching for specific keywords monthly

After you have come up with a general idea of what you want to blog about in a specific post,  head over to Jaxxy and you plug that ‘keyword/keyword phrase’ into Jaxxy search box.

Afterward, Jaxxy will give you a super comprehensive list like this.

the best keyword research tool for seo

As shown in the image above, you will be able to see how many actual searches are done on that specific keyword monthly. Not only that, you also see variations of this keyword.

You might be saying,

But Google Keyword Planner does that.

As of recently, nope. As shown in the image below, google now only gives a very broad idea of how many searches are done for a specific keyword monthly.

top keyword research tool

Therefore, while Jaxxy shows you exactly how many people are searching for a specific keyword, Google Keyword planner only gives you an estimate.

2. Jaxxy Keywords Research Tool Tells You How Many Websites or Blogs Are Competing For Specific Keywords!

Guys, This is huge!

To have the knowledge of how many other sites are trying to rank for a special keyword. This is akin to having a crystal ball!

This will save you lots of time and wasted effort trying to rank for keywords that are already saturated.

A small comparison and a myth that I MUST clear up.

Many internet marketers are of the mistaken belief that the Google Keyword Planner is enough to help them rank well in Google or other search engines. After all, this tool is created by Google.

I will not say that Google Keyword Planner is not a very helpful tool, because it is. But like I said earlier, the Google Keyword Planner was not designed specifically for bloggers and other content creators. Therefore, it is not the best keyword research tool for SEO.

In fact, this tool is designed for AdWords users, in other words, advertisers!

Not publishers!

Because of this belief that Google Keyword Planner caters to content creators, many people mistakenly think that ‘competition‘ in Google keyword research tool means how much competition there is for a keyword in terms of bloggers and websites owners trying to rank for that specific keyword.

This is a terribly wrong assumption!!!!

This is what google defines as ‘competition‘ in their Google Keyword Planner

The Best Keyword Research Tool For SEO

There you have it folks, competition is about the number of advertisers willing to pay money for the advertisements related to any specific keyword. Not the amount of people (or bloggers/site owners) trying to rank for that keyword.

Therefore, this data in Google Keyword Planner is great for advertisers and others who are interested in implementing Google AdSense ads on their blogs/websites.

However, this is not so great for content creators whose aim is to try to rank in Google based on this specific data.

But, You Do Not Need To Fret Guys!

You can start using what I consider to be the best keyword research tool for SEO!

Compare this to ‘QSR‘ in Jaxxy, which is data that relates to and is gathered for the content creator.

jaxxy-qsr

Jaxxy tells you the exact number of websites competing for any keyword. Isn’t this totally awesome?

I sure think so!

Also, Jaxxy has a color system letting you know which keywords are good to try to rank for in terms of this ‘competition’ metric. It is called ‘KQI’ which stands for Keyword Quality Indicator.

This is demonstrated in this image here.

jaxxy

If the keyword has a red dot, this means it’s saturated with competing websites or blogs and it is thus a poor choice of keyword to use in your content. In this case, it is best to forget this keyword and try to find a better quality keyword.

jThe Best Keyword Research Tool For SEO

Why?

Imagine this… What are the chances of a brand new blog, with little to no ‘domain authority’ ranking for a keyword that many sites (including top sites) are already ranking for?

The chances are very slim and if your content is focused on this keyword, chances are that like many others who create their content around keywords that are already saturated, you may never get to page one or two in search engines. And, we do not want that!

If the keyword has a yellow dot, there are many websites or blogs ranking for this particular keyword, but you still have a chance of ranking for it. According to Jaxxy, this keyword is ‘ok’.

The Best Keyword Research Tool For SEO

If the keyword has a green dot, the KQI is great and you can confidently write your content around this keyword. I only write my content around keywords with green dots.

Here is an example

jaxxy

Like I said, newer blogs do not really rank in Google just yet. They need to be around for at least 4-6 months. However, it is very wise to write your content around keywords that have lower competition, so that when your site is ready to be ranked, it is already SEO proof and ready to go!

Why?

This is the only way that your posts will start to rank in search engines in a timely fashion.

What else is so great about Jaxxy?

You’re given other keywords that are closely related to the keyword you entered and searched for.

Side note. I usually end up using these ‘related keywords’ instead of the one I actually searched for.

How come?

The keywords I search for are often over-saturated. Therefore, in order to give myself the best chance of ranking as quickly as possible, I like to use keywords with less competition and generally a higher ‘SEO’ score. Sometimes, this means less traffic, but that’s okay.

Why?

Imagine this

It is easier for your blog or website to rank on 1st or 2nd page if the keyword only has 15 competing websites, rather than if the keyword has 280 competing websites.

Mind you, the keyword with the most competing websites usually has more searches and traffic but, chances are you may end up on page 10 or higher. Therefore, you may never receive a single page view from this keyword with ‘more traffic’.

I would much rather get all the traffic to my blog by using the keyword with less traffic, but also less competition.

In Case You’re Not Fully Convinced Yet!

Jaxxy Has Those Gems Guys!

The best keyword research tool for SEO

What Else Does This Keyword Research Tool Do?

Also, each keyword is  given a number (from 1 -100), with 100 being the best. This gives you a more detailed insight of how good this keyword is to try to rank for. The idea is that the higher the SEO score, the better the keyword is.

I try to pick keywords with SEO scores of 90 or above.

screenshot-2016-10-20-13-46-49x-vnrwqdw

Jaxxy Also Has A Cool Bonus!

This comes in the form of suggested keywords on the right-hand side of your screen on Jaxxy. These are mostly loosely related, but, they can come in handy, especially for follow up posts and articles surrounding a particular topic.

screenshot-2016-10-20-10-40-04fdiufydxhfvb

Plus, this type of information is crucial to helping you write articles that are close to your heart, of course, but will actually stand a chance (a high one too if you use the proper keywords) to rank in the search engines.

And, who doesn’t want to rank on page one or two in Google or other search engines?

This is what can revolutionize the success of your blog!

Why you need to start doing keyword research and implementing proper Search Engine Optimization from the get go:

  • This will save you tons of time in the future, when your blog is finally ready to be ranked. Unlike many people who did not implement proper SEO from the beginning, you won’t have to go back and update posts in order to start ranking. You would have done the appropriate thing months ago and you will this be seeing great results by month 4-6.

  • You won’t be losing out on valuable traffic in the coming six months or so. You would have already implemented proper SEO, so when the time comes to get organic traffic and rank, you won’t need to scramble to updates older posts. Those older posts will already be good to go and you will thus see an increase in your organic traffic.

And if anything sticks with you here today I hope it is the knowledge that search engine traffic is very valuable. This type of traffic unlike many other forms of traffic will be much easier to convert.

Why?

Because those viewers actually WANT what you have on your website!

Now, guys,  you can take this accurate keyword research to the next level. You can also do some really in-depth research in your niche. Because this tool is so comprehensive you can:

Find out EXACTLY what people in your niche are struggling with by seeing exactly WHAT they are searching for.

And, I don’t think I have to tell you this, but this can take your blog/online biz to the next level!

If you know what people want and you can provide it, you will become an unstoppable force in your niche!

Jaxxy has a host of other features, which are shown in the image below.

Here is what it costs and also a breakdown of what you receive for the price.

Hi Alison, SEO and keyword research isn;t very difficult. I wish that more people would stop making it seem that way. I think doing so encourages people, particularly female bloggers from attempting to try it out. This cause them to miss some great traffic and income potential from search engines. I’m glad this post is easy to follow for you! I wish you success with implementing SEO on for your business!

thanks for this great review. i will definately check it out. yes up until now i’ve used the google keyword planner too.

may i remind you that when you’re using affiliate links, that you will need to make them nofollow. otherwise google will penalize you and it will hurt your ranking on the long term. this means google will place you lower in the rankings and in some cases delete you from it totally.

    just so you know.

    keep up the great work.

    thanks for replying.

i’ve invested all of my time into learning about internet marketing over the last 5 years and since september of 2014 about blogging.

i love affiliate marketing, so that’s how i know about these things.
you’re using a self hosted wordpress blog, so you could install a free plugin called ultimate nofollow.

whenever you’re creating a link, below the “open in new window” tab, there will be the option to make this link a nofollow link.

    here’s the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/nofollow/

you can also do this manually by adding a small piece of html code.

this goes for every link, where you will make some sort of payment.
not just affiliate links, but also sponsored links. so if you’ll get paid in some way in money or products/services, you’ll need to make that link a nofollow link.

i also know in case of sponsored content, that lots of companies don’t want you to use this nofollow link, because it won’t help their google ranking. but on the long term, it will hurt the rankings of both you and the company who’s sponsoring you.

    have a great Sunday,

    Chris
